About DigiYatra
- DigiYatra envisages that travellers pass through various checkpoints at the airport through paperless and contactless processing.
- It uses facial technology to establish their identity, which would be linked to the boarding pass.
- Implementation Agency:
- DigiYatra Foundation
- The DigiYatra Foundation will be the custodian of the passenger ID validation process.
- It will also define the criteria for compliance and guidelines for the local airport systems.
- The Airport Authority of India (AAI) will identify the airports where DigiYatra will be implemented in a phased manner.
- Benefit:
- Air travellers who choose to use the service won’t have to show their tickets, boarding passes at several points at the airport.
- This in turn, would reduce queue waiting time and accelerate processing time.
