GEV Memorial Merit Scholarship for Law students is an initiative made by GEV Scholarship Fund Trust whose motive is to provide financial assistance to passionate law students and this scholarship helps the deserving students to pursue and complete their legal education from a respectable Indian Law Institution. Under this Scholarship program, UG or PG law students get an amount of up to Rs 2,00,000 per year to cover all educational expenses of law students. GEV Memorial Merit Scholarship program is an initiative that was started in the memory of the 13th Attorney General of India, Late Dr. Goolam E. Vahanvati in a great cause of support for Young Deserving law aspirants. This Scholarship program is specifically designed for those who are not from a strong financial background and at times find it difficult to bear their Financial academic expenses. Students under this scholarship along with financial help of 50,000 to 2,00,000 per year also get a chance to participate in a mentorship program. And there are also high chances of these students conducting and organizing the same mentorship program next year under their domain which is indeed a very good opportunity for law aspirants.

The objective of the GEV Memorial Merit Scholarship
The main objective of the GEV Memorial Merit Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to deserving and passionate law students so that they can attain their legal education from respectable Indian Law Institutions. The Scholarship is specialized for all law aspirants who are not from a very rich background and at times find it tough to afford legal education from reputed law Institutes. According to the Scholarship, Students who are pursuing Law at the Undergraduate or Postgraduate level will get benefits from this scholarship. Students will get an amount of 50,000 to 2,00,000 per year for managing their academic expenses under this Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for GEV Memorial Merit Scholarship for Law Students 2022
An Indian Citizen pursuing any Law degree in India is eligible for applying for the GEV Memorial Merit Scholarship. Candidates pursuing Undergraduate or Postgraduate law degrees are eligible to get the benefits of this scholarship. However, other than this there are quite some eligibility criteria that a candidate must fulfill in order to get the benefits of this scholarship and apply for it. The eligibility criteria are as follows: –
- Firstly, a candidate must be pursuing an LLB or LLM degree (be it any year) from a recognized university in India.
- Secondly, candidates who have previously applied for entrance examinations such as CLAT, LSAT India, AILET, or any other entrance exams are also eligible for applying to this scholarship program.
- A candidate getting less than 60% marks in their 10th or 12th examination will not be eligible for applying to this scholarship program. That means a candidate must obtain at least 60% or more than that mark in their 10th and 12th board examinations.
- A Candidate would be eligible for applying to this Scholarship program if his/her annual family income is less than 10 lakhs or more than 20 lakhs.
- It is mandatory for a candidate applying for the scholarship program to sign up for the mentorship. As this mentorship is organized only for law students this will them choose the right path for their careers.
- Candidates with SC, ST, PwBD, OBC, and EWS categories can also apply for the scholarship program. However, they later would need to provide a certificate justifying their category. And the following categories might get a certain number of concessions regarding the scholarship.
