The NTA hasn’t revealed the date for the NEET UG 2026 exam however based on the previous year trends, the exam should be held on the 3rd of May, 2026, which happens to fall on a Sunday.
As of now, the official registration dates haven’t been released yet.Based on the previous years the registration process is expected to begin in February 2026 and continue till March.
NEET UG 2026 syllabus will be published by NTA with the official bulletin of information, which is likely in January or February 2026. Students may keep following the current NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, since NEET exam is largely from these subjects.
The NEET UG 2026 result is expected to be declared in June 2026, around four weeks from the date of the test. The precise date of the result will be notified by NTA on its official website, neet.nta.nic.in
The difficulty level of NEET UG 2026 will be heavily based on the question paper prepared by NTA, but the exam is usually moderate to challenging given the great competition, enormous syllabus of NCERT Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and fewer medical seats offered in comparison to a huge number of aspirants. With effective preparation based on NCERT fundamentals, regular practice through mock tests, and solving past years’ papers, the exam becomes much more manageable. Finally, the difficulty level will be different from student to student based on their preparation and exam strategy.
The official marking scheme is used to calculate NEET scores. Every right response is worth +4 points, and every wrong response is worth -1 point. Unanswered questions do not result in a mark deduction or award. The following formula is used to determine the final score:
NEET Score = (4 × Number of Correct Answers) − (1 × Number of Wrong Answers)
(4×Number of Correct Answers)−(1×Number of Wrong Answers) = NEET Score
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology questions are included in the exam, which has a maximum score of 720.
