In the Parliament, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare of India, Bharati Pravin Pawar, shared some significant updates. According to the minister, the number of medical colleges has increased by 71%, rising from 387 before 2014 to 660 presently. Furthermore, there has been a remarkable growth of 97% in MBBS seats under their government.

Government MBBS Seats Through NEET 2023: For AIQ

Government MBBS seats through NEET include the All India Quota (AIQ) seats, which are reserved for candidates from all states and union territories in India (excluding Jammu and Kashmir). These seats are filled through a centralised counselling process conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

The availability of government MBBS seats through AIQ is published on the official website of the MCC(mcc.nic.in) and is announced during the counselling schedule.

The counselling for AIQ is expected to be announced tentatively in the month of June or July 2023. However, check the seat matrix for the previous year’s NEET to get a general idea about the distribution of AIQ seats.
