India has contributed $500,000 to the U.N. Counter-Terrorism Trust Fund (UNCOT).
About UNCOT:
- UNOCT is a specialized office within the United Nations dedicated to countering terrorism and promoting global peace and security.
- It serves as a central hub for coordinating and implementing the UN’s counter-terrorism efforts worldwide.
- UNOCT works closely with member states, regional organizations, and other UN entities to develop and implement comprehensive strategies to prevent and combat terrorism.
- The office provides technical assistance, capacity building, and training to member states to strengthen their counter-terrorism capabilities.
- UNOCT also focuses on addressing the root causes of terrorism, promoting the rule of law, and protecting human rights in its efforts to counter the threat of terrorism.
