- Delhi’s Pollution: For the fourth consecutive year, Delhi was named the most polluted capital city in the world.
- Most Polluted Metropolitan Area: Bihar’s Begusarai was identified as the world’s most polluted metropolitan area.
- India’s Cities in Global Top 11: Among the world’s top 11 most polluted cities, 10 are in India, with Lahore, Pakistan, being the exception.
- Population Exposure: 96% of India’s population is exposed to PM2.5 levels that exceed the World Health Organization’s (WHO) annual PM2.5 guideline by more than seven times.
