ADITI Scheme – to promote innovation in critical and strategic technologies: 6 Mar 2024

About the scheme:

• Acing Development of Innovative Technologies with iDEX (ADITI) is a scheme to promote innovations in defence technologies.

• It comes under the iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) framework of the Ministry of Defence. 

• Objective:  It aims to develop about 30 deep-tech critical and strategic technologies during the period 2023-24 to 2025-26.

• It will develop a Technology Watch Tool that will close the gap between what modern armed forces need and expect. 

About iDEX:

• 2018: Launched by Ministry of Defence.

• Objective: to become self-sufficient and promote technological advancement and innovation in the defence and aerospace sectors.

Why in news?

Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh launched the ADITI scheme during DefConnect 2024 in New Delhi.
