Why in news?

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has launched the GHAR (GO Home and Re-Unite) Portal.

Key Points:

It facilitates the digital tracking and monitoring of children in the Juvenile Justice system who need to be repatriated to another country, state, or district.
It enables the digital transfer of cases to the concerned Juvenile Justice Board/Child Welfare Committee.

About NCPCR:

It is a statutory body in India that was established in 2007.
It was established by the Indian government in accordance with the 2005 Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act.
It seeks to ensure that laws and policies align with the rights of the child as outlined in the Constitution of India and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
