Recently, the First AI safety summit was held in Bletchley Park.

About Bletchley Park: 

  • Located near London. 
  • During WW II, it became a center of intercepting enemy messages. 
  • Known most for deciphering the unbreakable Enigma code.
  • The Nazis employed  devices called enigma machines to encrypt their radio transmissions.
  • Here, Alan Turing  made Bombe, a device to help decipher German Enigma code. 
  • Another machine designed by Tommy Flowers under Max Newman was Colossus to decipher code messages of German high command. 
  •  According to Historian FH Hinsley, Bletchley Park’s contribution reduced the length of the war by two years.
