Rohit has now become the leading run-scorer in men’s T20 international by overtaking Guptill with just 11 runs. Rohit Sharma now has scored a total of 3499 runs, as compared to Guptill who has scored a total of 3497 runs.
The following record is the most sixes in the Asia Cup. This record is held by Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi, who smashed 26 sixes in 23 innings. Rohit Sharma requires six sixes, and he has 21 sixes in 26 innings so far. He is also capable of achieving this position versus Pakistan.
As India defeated Pakistan, Rohit joined Virat Kohli on the list of Indian captains who have won the most T20 matches. Kohli has won 30 of a possible 50 matches, while Rohit has won 29 of 35. Simultaneously, he is now India’s most successful T20 skipper behind MS Dhoni (41).
Not only that, but Rohit wants to be the highest-scoring Indian batsman in the Asia Cup. Rohit has 883 runs to his name and would overtake Sachin Tendulkar if he scores 89 more (971). At the same time, he will become the first Indian to achieve 1000 runs in the Asia Cup after scoring 117 runs.
