The government classifies the IIMs as Institutions of National Importance in addition to being among the top management schools in India according to several rankings & surveys. Various programmes are offered at the 20 IIMs in India. Aside from other business programmes, an MBA is one of the most demanded degrees worldwide, not only in India. Every applicant who wants to pursue management education wants to attend an IIM, which can only be realised through perseverance and hard work.
IIMs also offer a variety of management training courses and part-time MBA programmes for different businesses and individuals. Therefore, one should go to one of the Twenty Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in India that provide top-notch postgraduate management programmes if one wants to study an MBA at one of the greatest business schools in the country. Programs Offered by IIMs In India
For a two-year MBA programme, management executive programmes for working people, doctoral programmes, and research, IIMs are the most sought-after locations in India. The IIMs provide integrated management diploma programmes lasting two, one, or five years. In India, only these courses are regarded as full-time MBA programmes. The top IIMs in India offer the following courses:
MBA/PGP
The flagship programme for all IIMs is the 2-year Post Graduate Course in Management (PGP), similar to traditional MBA programmes. Most IIMs have begun providing Masters in Business Administration (MBA) courses since passing the IIM Act of 2017. The 2-year full-time MBA/PGP programme is the IIMs’ most renowned and highly regarded programme.
Executive Certificate Programs (Short-Duration or Part-Time)
Most IIMs also provide part-time executive certificate courses and short-duration executive education/EMBA courses.
FPM
A few IIMs offer the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), a doctorate programme generally regarded as being on par with a PhD.
IPM
IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Rohtak, and IIM Jammu offer the 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) programme after completing grade 12.
EPGP
Nearly all IIMs offer the Executive Post Graduate Programme or EPGP. The target audience for this program is mid-level professionals with 5 to 12 years of professional experience.
PGPX
Some IIMs also provide a 1-year postgraduate diploma course for graduates with professional experience.
Other Specialised Programs
Some IIMs also provide special programmes, like the 3-year Working Managers’ Program at IIM Lucknow and the 5-year Integrated Management Program at IIM Indore.

Additionally, not all of the courses offered at prestigious IIMs in India are for normal graduates. Many IIMs also provide part-time courses for those already employed but still want to add an IIM credential to their resume but cannot leave their employment to pursue a management degree. You will need to do well in the subsequent phases of admissions based on the CAT test at the Indian Institutes of Management and pass the CAT exam with a high percentile.
