ATMA is a national-level exam for admission to MBA, PGDM, MCA, and PGDBA programmes administered by the Association of Indian Business Schools (AIBS). ATMA scores are accepted for admission to management programmes at over 750 management institutes in India. The test is meant to evaluate candidates’ aptitude for advanced managerial studies. The ATMA exam is divided into six chapters. The exam is conducted several times a year. The exam contains questions on Analytical Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Skills.

ATMA eligibility criteria

  • Candidates who apply for the ATMA exam have to be Indian citizens.
  • Any graduate with a minimum of 50% course yes or equivalent CGPA from a recognised board or university is eligible to apply.
  • Candidates throughout their final academic year are eligible to apply on a provisional basis.
  • There is no upper age limit.

Structure of ATMA

ATMA is a home-based online test with AI and live human proctoring, comprising 180 question types. The test assesses students’ verbal, quantitative, and reasoning abilities. Each question is worth one mark, and each incorrect answer is worth 0.25 points. Candidates have three hours to complete six sections, each with a period limit of 30 minutes. There are three major sections in general:

  • Quantitative Ability

The exam results are released shortly after the exam. In ATMA, the report card displays one sectional and an overall percentile. ATMA scores are legitimate for one year following the date of the exam. Most MBA programmes have a cut-off variety of 70-95 percentile. Once you have been shortlisted based on your percentile, you will be invited to the following selection processes: Essay Test, Group Discussion/Exercise, and Personal Interview.

  • Candidates must understand the examination pattern before beginning their preparation. It will aid them in creating a proper timetable.
  • Candidates must create an appropriate schedule. They must systematically adhere to their decisions. This will assist them in avoiding any outstanding work and ensuring a smooth transition through the entire curriculum.
  • It is recommended that candidates practise one mock paper per day to ensure a suitable pace for each section. It is best to devote adequate time to each section.
