Introduction

The meaning of the three premise argument states that there have been three arguments that have been mentioned that ultimately give one or more than one conclusion. There could be an instance where a conclusion could be drawn from the statement that leads to one conclusion. There has been a certain amount of set of statements has been given below which a set of conclusions has been given.

Brief details on Syllogism

A syllogism has been considered to be a type of logical reasoning where there has been a set of conclusions drawn from two premises that are linked together. During the construction of the statement in a syllogism, the first statement speaks about the adjective of the noun. Then in the second statement, the entire adjective regarding the noun has been highlighted. Then the two statements that have been talked about the same noun have to be linked up together and a conclusion has to be drawn for the same that could give more than one conclusion.

There have been three types of components of syllogism that are supposed to be linked altogether. The first component speaks about the major premises that mostly state the subject in the statement. The second component speaks about the noun specifically without any diversion. Then the third and the final component mention the link between the major premises and that of the minor premises. The syllogism has a basic rule that states that in case the first statement has been true and that of the second statement has also been true then the third statement will definitely be true.

Critical analysis on three premise arguments

There are certain sets of syllogisms that are supposed to contain a false kind of presumptions. There has been a creation of syllogistic fallacy only when there have been two statements drawn which are considered to be general that are supposed to validate a particular statement. There has been a set of six rules that are supposed to be drawn before doing a syllogism. A syllogism has been basically a set of statements that are supposed to be analyzed and a set of conclusions are supposed to be drawn out from the same. The first rule of syllogism states three terms are required to be present while conducting a syllogism. The first term has been the major premise, the second term has been the minor premise and the third term has been the conclusion that could neither be more nor it could cared to be less.

The second rule states that there has to be a mandate distribution of the minor premise with that of at least one premise. The third rule of thumb speaks that in case there has been found out any type of distribution in the section of conclusion. Then that particular conclusion has to be distributed in the premises that have been considered to be relevant. The fourth rule has been a general rule that says that there cannot be the usage of two premises that has been ruled to be negative. The fifth rule states that in case there has been observed that among the two premises, one of the premises has been negative then the entire conclusion that has been drawn would be negative. The sixth and final rule speaks of that in case there has been a universal truth that has been spoken, and then there won’t be any opportunity to draw a conclusion on such statements.

Illustration on three premise argument

There have been two statements given of those are followed by two conclusions. The first statement states that some cows are bachelors. The second statement speaks that all bachelors are supposed to be blessed. In the context of the above-mentioned statements, there have been two conclusions to be drawn. The first conclusion speaks that some cows have been blessed and the second statement speaks that at least some of the blessed ones have been considered to be bachelors. These conclusions are both expected to be true in this case of syllogism.

There has been a second illustration that comes up with the first statement stating that there have been some rats that are the goat. The second statement states that there has been all goat that has been bug. The above two statements have been backed up by two conclusions that say some rats have been a bug and that state that at least some of the bugs have been the goat. There has been a proper link to be found between the first statement and that of the second statement in the solution. This being the reason states that the above two conclusions have been supposed to be correct.

Conclusion

Syllogism is basically defined as a set of three statements that are supposed to be inferred by the individual by doing critical analysis on the same. Based on the critical analysis of the statement that has been met a set of conclusions are supposed to be drawn on the argument. The main task of the individual has been to look for the correct conclusion that best suits the statement in terms of its linage with the same. There are various sets of arguments that are universally being true, in regards to such argument there cannot be any derivation of conclusion.
