Reasoning is a skill that has gained importance over the past few years. It is so because before performing any action reasoning behind acting must be clear and logical. In the present day, competitive examinations are held where students are expected to reason. Reasoning can be as simple as finding a proper seating arrangement in a given situation. Numerous seating arrangements can be chosen depending upon the situation and therefore questions are based on reasoning between the type of seating arrangement that needs to be chosen.
What is a triangle seating arrangement?
A triangular seating arrangement is a seating arrangement where a suitable position of the chair would be appropriate for the given situation. Usually, the seating arrangement is shaped like a triangular prism where seats are arranged in such a manner that it forms the shape of a triangle prism. A triangular prism is a prism which consists of three rectangular sides and two triangular bases. It is a pentahedron.
Types of triangular seating arrangement positions
There is more than one position in which the triangle seating arrangement can be placed. Below is the list of possible positions in which a triangle seating arrangement can be placed
Triangular Arrangement- Facing Outside
Triangular Seating Arrangement is used in situations where the conditions mentioned demand people to be seated in such a manner that it forms a shape of a prism that is triangular in shape. In this type of Triangular Seating Arrangement, all the people sit around to form a triangle but face away from the center of the triangular prism. They sit facing outside. This kind of Seating Arrangement is appropriate when certain objects are placed by making a Triangular shape. Thus, to see the object the people need to be faced away from the middle of the triangular prism. In a triangular seating arrangement when the people are facing outside, left indicates anti-clockwise direction and right indicates clockwise direction.
Triangular Seating Arrangement – Facing Center
In this type of triangular seating arrangement people are seated in a triangular-shaped position but this time they are seated facing the center of the triangular prism. This kind of seating position indicates that the object that people are looking at, is placed inside the triangular prism. In this seating arrangement, right signifies anti-clockwise direction and left signifies clockwise direction.
Triangular Arrangement- Facing Center and Outside
In this type of seating arrangement, people are arranged to place in a triangular-shaped formation where few people face away from the center of the triangular prism, whereas some people are faced towards the center of the triangular prism. These situations are rare and may occur when objects are placed in triangular shapes instead of people.
These are the positions in which a triangle seating arrangement can be placed by maintaining the shape of a prism triangular in shape.

Reasoning is an important skill that everyone should possess. By proper reasoning, an effective and efficient solution to a given problem can be found. Sitting arrangement is a part of reasoning because sitting arrangements can differ according to the situation. For different kinds of situations, different seating arrangements are required. For instance, when a teacher is teaching, a double row seating arrangement is considered to be appropriate because it helps the teacher to see all the students and the student to see the teacher and hear what he or she is saying. Likewise, a football stadium for cricket stadiums should be circular such that it can have a circular seating arrangement. A circular seating arrangement will help every person present in the stadium to see what is going on in the field. Similarly, when a group of an object is presented in a triangular shape, the triangular sitting arrangement must be used so that every person can see each object. The concept of sitting arrangement is therefore important. In competitive exams, students are given problems regarding seating arrangements and they are required to find a suitable sitting position depending on the condition given to them. This also explains the importance of the concept of seating positions and logical reasoning for advanced studies.
