Some Solved questions

Q1) Study the question and solve these questions.

Subhajit, Shreya, Partha, Shatabhisa, Rachel, Monica, Ross and Somu are sitting facing north. Somu sits third to the left of Shatabhisa. Somu relaxes or sits at the end of that row arrangement. One person sits between Shatabhisa and Shreya. Only two people sit between Shreya and Ross. Ross is a neighbor of Subhajit. Monica sits third to the left of Partha. Who is their immediate neighbor of Rachel?

Answer:

People: Subhajit, Shreya, Partha, Shatabhisa, Rachel, Monica, Ross and Somu.

  1. Somu sits third to the left of Shatabhisa.
  2. Somu relaxes or sits at the end of that row arrangement.
  3. One person sat between Shatabhisa and Shreya.
  4. Two people sat between Shreya and Ross.
  5. Ross is a neighbor of Subhajit.
  6. Monica sat third to the left of Partha.

Hence Shreya and Partha are immediate neighbours of Rachel.

Hence the seating arrangement is;

Somu – Subhajit – Ross – Shatabhisa – Monica – Shreya – Rachel – Partha

Q2) Eight people named Ranu, Kanhu, Sanu, Jinu, Sinu, Chinu, Dablu and Silu are sitting in a line with 4 people facing north and 4 people facing south. Only two continuous persons can be able to face the same direction. Persons at the right end and at the left end will face in the same direction.

Ranu sits 3rd to the right of Jinu, who sits immediately to the right of Silu. Silu faces the north direction. 2 people sit between Ranu and sinu. Jinu doesn’t sit at the end. Kanhu sits right of Sanu and both face south. Kanhu and ranu are not near each other. Dablu doesn’t face south.

Create the row arrangement?

Answer:

People: Ranu, Kanhu, Sanu, Jinu, Sinu, Chinu, Dablu and Silu

  1. Ranu sits 3rd to the right of Jinu, who sits immediately to the right of Silu.
  2. Silu faces the north direction.
  3. Two people sat between Ranu and sinu.
  4. Jinu doesn’t sit at the end.
  5. Kanhu sits to the right of Sanu and both face south.
  6. Kanhu and ranu are not near each other.
  7. Dablu doesn’t face south.

Hence if we use these statements and will solve the problem then we will get the arrangement like this:

Silu(N) – Jinu(S) – Chinu(S) – Dablu(N) – Ranu(N) – Sanu (S) – Kanhu(S) – Sinu(N)
