Every decision-making process has an output that may be favourable or unfavourable. It can also be defined as a series of steps taken by a person bravely to determine the best option and to meet their needs.
Decision Making Methodologies
1. Identifying the problem.
2. Seek information about different decisions that are possible.
3. Evaluate all decisions and choose the best of them.
4. Implementing a decision on the problem.
5. Monitor the results after the implementation of the decision.
6. Make changes in the decision if it is necessary.
Effective Steps Of Decision Making
1. Identifying The Decision
First, the decision must be identified. The problem must be identified according to nature and must act according to it. This is the most important step.
2. Gathering Relevant Information
Collect the important information according to the problem. This involves both internal and external work. Internal work can be defined as the process of self-assessment. Some information is external in which we find the information online, in books etc.,
3. Identify The Other Ways Or Alternatives
As the information is collected by us for the problems, we may find several ways or alternatives to our problem. We may also use our power of imagination to construct new ways or alternatives. All possible, desirable and successful alternatives are listed and then used for the problem.
4. Weigh The Evidence
Think about all your information and emotions that we liked to carry out in the process of providing a solution to our problem. This is one of the difficult internal processes.
5. Choosing Among The Alternatives
Once we have studied all the evidence, it’s time now to select the best among ourselves. We can also choose a combination of alternatives. Thus this is also one of the important processes in decision making.
6. Take Action According To Problem
As step 5 of selecting our alternative according to the problem is completed, now it’s time to execute our alternatives according to our plans.
7. Reviewing Decision
Now in this step, we are in an urge to find whether the alternative used by us is effective for our problem or not. If not, it is necessary for us to review our decision. If it is needed, we should also gather more evidence and should come up with a new alternative such that our new solution makes us free from our problem.
