Uttarakhand is a state located in the northern part of India; the state is also popularly known as Uttaranchal. At that time Uttarakhand was considered the twentieth most populous state in India where the 0.83% population of India were residents of the state of Uttarakhand. The Uttarakhand state consists of an infant mortality rate of 43, along with a crucial death rate of 6.6 and a maternal mortality rate of 188.

Uttarakhand is a state located in the northern part of India, its name is derived from two Sanskrit words Uttar and khanda which means north and land, if they are joined together, they form northern land. However, the other name of Uttarakhand is Dev Bhumi because Uttarakhand is a northern state which consists of a lot of religious centers and pilgrimage places.
