Agricultural production must be enhanced and optimised to fulfil the country’s growing food demand. Irrigating the land does this. The Indian government has commissioned major dam irrigation projects in Rajasthan. The state of Rajasthan has a variety of irrigation options, including canals.

The Chambal Valley Project and Bisalpur Major Dam Irrigation Projects in Rajasthan
The Chambal Valley Project is a collaboration of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan initiated in 1954. As one of the major dam irrigation projects in Rajasthan, the Chambal Valley project focused on harnessing the Chambal river for power and irrigation.
The Bisalpur project comprises the construction of a dam over the Banas River to provide Beawar and Nasirabad with drinking water and agriculture. A 574-metre-long concrete dam with a maximum height of 38.50 metres, a gross storage capacity of 1095.84 million cubic metres, and a live storage capacity of 1040.95 million cubic metres is part of the Bisalpur project. On the Banas River, the Bisalpur project is situated. The dam is situated at a latitude of 25°55′ N and a longitude of 75° 27′ E.
Conclusion
Irrigation was formerly thought to be one of India’s most significant water uses. Irrigation systems in India have traditionally consisted of facilities that collect, transport and distribute water to various sites for agricultural use. The Indian government has invested heavily in major Dam irrigation projects in Rajasthan and other regions of the nation to provide an adequate supply of water for agricultural production and, as a consequence, to boost the economy.
The government must be at the forefront of agricultural production and distribution as the world’s population expands. Irrigation is a cost-effective water management and control method that may help farmers increase agricultural yields.
