Irrigation was formerly thought to be one of India’s most significant water uses. Irrigation systems in India have traditionally consisted of facilities that collect, transport and distribute water to various sites for agricultural use. The Indian government has invested heavily in major Dam irrigation projects in Rajasthan and other regions of the nation to provide an adequate supply of water for agricultural production and, as a consequence, to boost the economy.

The government must be at the forefront of agricultural production and distribution as the world’s population expands. Irrigation is a cost-effective water management and control method that may help farmers increase agricultural yields.
