The State is predominantly a desert yet has made tremendous progress in agriculture and infrastructure. The Census done in 1872 at Lord Mayo’s time is considered the first Population Census of India. While at the time of Lord Ripon, the first Population Census of India was done in 1881 with the managed standard. The first Population Census of Independent India was done in 1951. Census 2011 was 15th from 1872 and 7th since after independence. The Census is described in the 7th. The Total Population of India is 1,210,193,422 on the reference date 01 March 2011 of the Census 2011. The Total population of Rajasthan has become 6,85,48,437 on the same date. The Percentage of the total population of the country is 5.67%. According to Census 2011, of the total population of Rajasthan, 75.11% population live in a rural area, and 24.89% population lives in an urban area. The Percentage of the female population in the State is 48.10%.
