Rajasthan has a total forest cover of 32,737 square kilometres. This represents 9.57 percent of the total land area of the state. It is the state with the least amount of forest cover. Forests can be found in the hilly portions of districts such as Udaipur, Rajsamand, Kota, Chittorgarh, and Alwar, to name a few. In the western section of the state, there are no forest areas to be found. Tropical thorn forests, tropical dry deciduous forests, bamboo forests, and sub-tropical mountain forests in Central India are the different types of tropical dry deciduous forests. Boreal forest
This type of forest is referred to as taiga, and it is found in the northern hemisphere of the earth. They are located in places with cooling trees. Weather conditions generally range from a high of 20 degrees to a low of -60 degrees Fahrenheit. The boreal forest is spread across vast expanses of land, occupying a portion of the territory of several big countries, including Alaska, Norway, Canada, Finland, Sweden and Russia.
Temperate forest
They are forests that are found in a variety of climates and latitudes. It is typical to find this form of forest in temperate regions, while it may be found in both hemispheres and is more prevalent in the northern hemisphere. A moderate temperature and a lot of rain are experienced here. The ability to sleep is present in the majority of large animals. Other animals migrate to warmer climates to establish a breeding season for their young.
They are distinguished by having a dense vegetative cover and fertile, fertile soil that is high in moisture content. Almost all of these environmental circumstances are favourable to the creation of humus, an organic fertiliser used to promote the growth of plants and other organisms.
Subtropical forest
They are moderately warm and average 22 degrees Celsius. They are close to the tropics, of which the plants are generally very large, and they stand alone for having broad leaves of this tropical hill forest. High rainfall throughout the year and the seasons are highly marked. We find pine forests, deciduous forests, subtropical forests and subtropical hill forests.
The central Indian sub-tropical hill forests (Sri Lankan case: tropical hill forests) are the rainforests between the north and south of the equator, 28 inches above the equator. Central Indian sub-tropical hill forests are rainforests with high temperatures and rainfall. This tropical hill forest’s average temperature ranges from 18 C to 27 C. Its average annual rainfall is not less than 1680 mm. It is more than 10000 mm in some areas. Typical rainfall is 1750 mm (175 cm) to 2000 mm (200 cm)
Tropical thorn forests
This type of tropical thorn forest is found in most parts of the world with very little rainfall. These forests are found above 400 m above sea level. The most common trees are palm, neem, oak, white, and sessile. Shrubs are also common. This tropical thorn forest is found in some parts of Dharmapuri, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar and other districts.
It is one of the most diverse tropical thorn forests in terms of latitude. It can be found in both hemispheres in the tropics. It is one of the hottest and rainy seasons due to the high temperature. The average annual temperature is about 27 degrees. Depending on the region, we can find some subspecies of tropical thorn forest. Humid or rain tropical forest. It is also known as a rainforest
Dry tropical forest.
Monsoon.

Bamboo & Dry Deciduous Forests
This calm destination in Rajasthan, named after the vast number of bamboo forests found in the surrounding area, is perhaps one of the most tranquil spots to visit in the state. It is a royal city in Rajasthan, located at the southernmost tip of the state and founded by Maharawal Jagmal Singh. Teak Mixed Dry Deciduous Forests can be found in the southern part of Rajasthan, and they are a type of dry deciduous forest. The teak forest in Rajasthan is primarily found in the districts of Banswara and Dungarpur. Teak is a tropical hardwood tree species that belongs to the Lamiaceae family of flowering plants, which means “flowering plants.”
Conclusion
In Rajasthan, the most common forest types include dry deciduous forest, thorn forest, broad leafed hill forest, Dhauk woodland, teak mixed forest, and riverine forest, amongst others. The vegetation type map that has been created is an important input for understanding biodiversity at the landscape scale. The scrub jungle that covers most of Rajasthan is the state’s primary vegetation. In the western part of the state, there are plants that are typical of the arid zone, such as tamarisk (genus Tamarix) and false tamarisk (genus Tamarix) (genus Myricaria). Trees are sparse in the state, with the majority of them concentrated in the Aravallis and the eastern half of the state.
