Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation is also an public sector enterprise which is owned by the Rajasthan government and manages the road transport of the state. It has almost 5000 buses under it and its headquarters is in Jaipur. It was constituted in 1964 through an act called the road transport act,1950. The physical growth is an increase in the size of vehicles it handles every day. Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation facilitates the traveling from close to 500 buses on a daily basis. Also, it manages 8 depots of the state. The corporation handles the journey of close to 30,000 passengers daily.
It provides a large range of buses as per your convenience. These include ordinary buses, AC buses, Volvo LCD, Volvo pantry, integrated express and Volvo Mercedes etc.
Rajasthan has national highways of length of close to 10,000 km in number. The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation handles them efficiently. The fare, services and punctuality of the buses is maintained by the corporation. The bus services are linked to many nearby and some far distanced also. Rajasthan has 5 bordering states- Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana. The availability of buses for these states is more than sufficient in number. And states like Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand etc. are also connected through the bus services facilitated by the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation.
For the feasibility in transportation of Rajasthan, a new scheme known as Integrated Transport Management System to connect the villages, towns and people of Rajasthan through a methodical state so that even the remote areas of Rajasthan are easily accessible by the people. For ticketing purposes, the Electronic Ticket Issuing Machine has been provided by the Rajasthan State Road transport corporation.
Also, the transparency in the system and use of technology in collecting data has improved it to a great extent. These corporations also track vehicles and have a wide passenger information system to administer the traffic regulations smartly.
The Mukhyamantri Chiranjivi Swasthya Bima Yojna is an insurance scheme which gives a cover of Rs 10 lakh to people of Rajasthan in case of an accident. This scheme previously had an amount of 5 lakh rupees which has been increased now. It’s quite beneficial for the poor in the state.
The Moksha Kalash Yojna is a distinct initiative of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation which allows free traveling upto 2 people who wish to travel Haridwar with the Moksha Kalash from Rajasthan. The scheme has been launched in 2020 and is operational for now.
