Bihar derives its name from the Sanskrit and Pali term Vihara, which means “abode.” Bihar was the center of trade and culture during the Vedic period. Bihar is a landlocked state in India’s eastern region. The Ganga River, which flows across the center of Bihar from west to east, divides the plain into two unequal parts. It is located between humid West Bengal in the east and sub-humid Uttar Pradesh in the west, giving it a transitional position in terms of climate, economy, and culture. It is bounded to the north by Nepal and to the south by Jharkhand.

Rajendra Prasad
He was the first President of the Republic of India, as well as the first President to hold the post twice. He was a significant leader from Bihar during the 1930 Salt Satyagraha and 1942 Quit India Movement. During the 1934 Bombay Session, he was elected President of the Indian National Congress. He was one of the biggest personalities of Bihar.
Jairamdas Daulatram
Daulatram remained in India and became the first Indian Governor of Bihar, a position he maintained until 1948 when he was appointed Union Minister for Food Supply. Daulatram served in the Constituent Assembly of India, representing a constituency in East Punjab, and helped with the formulation and molding of the Indian Constitution. He was a member of the committees on advising, union subjects, and provincial constitution.
Dr. Krishna Singh
Shri Krishna Sinha, better known as Shri Babu, was the first Chief Minister of Bihar in India (1946–61). Except for World War II, Sinha served as Bihar’s chief minister from the beginning of the first Congress Ministry in 1937 until he died in 1961. He was one of the biggest personalities in Indian politics at that time.
Rabri Devi
Rabri Devi Yadav (born January 1, 1956) is an Indian politician who spent three terms as Chief Minister of Bihar, the first and only woman to do so. She is a member of Bihar’s Legislative Council, the Bihar Vidhan Parishad. She is the wife of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, an Indian politician.
Pandit Lakshmi Kant Jha
Hon. Pandit Lakshmi Kant Jha was the Patna High Court’s first Indian Chief Justice following independence. He was one of the biggest personalities of Bihar. Patna High Court is the state’s highest court. It was founded on February 9, 1916, and was afterward connected under the Government of India Act of 1915. The court’s headquarters are in Patna, the state’s administrative capital.
Justice Rekha Doshit
Rekha was appointed to the Gujarat High Court in 1995. Doshit was promoted as Chief Justice of Patna High Court on June 21, 2010, making her the first woman Chief Justice of Patna High Court.

Moin-ul-Haq Stadium
It is Bihar’s first international cricket stadium. Previously, the stadium was called Rajendra Nagar Stadium. After the death of icon Moin-ul-Haq, who was the general secretary of the Indian Olympic Association at the time, it was renamed in 1970. It is the first International cricket structure of Bihar.
·Valmiki National Park, a tiger reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary
Valmiki National Park is a Tiger Reserve in Bihar’s West Champaran District. It is Bihar’s sole national park. Valmiki Tiger Reserve encompasses 898.45 km2 (346.89 sq mi), accounting for 17.4 percent of the district’s total geographical area. It is one of the biggest structures of Bihar.
Nalanda University
In ancient Magadha (modern-day Bihar), India, there was a prominent Buddhist monastic academy known as Nalanda. It was located near the city of Rajgir and about 90 kilometers southeast of Patna and was considered by historians to be the world’s very first residential university, as well as one of the finest centers of study in the ancient world. It operated from 427 until 1197 CE. It is one of the oldest and most important structures of Bihar.
Vaishali (Bihar)
The district of Vaishali is located in the Indian state of Bihar. It is a division of Tirhut. Vaishali is best known as the birthplace of Lord Mahavir of the Jain religion and the holy structures of Bihar. Vaishali is also noted for having the world’s earliest democratic republic dating back to ancient times. Hajipur is the district headquarters and is well-known for its banana plantation.

Rashtriya Janata Dal
The Rashtriya Janata Dal is an Indian socialist political party, based in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand. The party was founded in 1997 by Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Bihar Movement
The Bihar campaign was a political movement launched in 1974 by students in the Indian state of Bihar and led by veteran Gandhian socialist Jayaprakash Narayan, widely known as JP, to protest misrule and corruption in the state administration. The central government later turned against Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s cabinet. It was a big event for Bihar. It was also referred to as the Sampoorna Kranti (Total Revolution Movement) and the JP Movement.
Har Ghar Bijli lagatar
This initiative was started to provide free power connections to every residence in the state. The scheme will encompass houses that do not currently have an electricity connection. The Har Ghar Bijli Yojana, an event launched by the state government, intends to link 50 lakh households to the power grid.
Safe City Surveillance Scheme Launched in Bihar for Women’s Safety from Crimes
The state government plans to deploy CCTV cameras in a variety of public settings. Patna is the first district to be covered by this Safe City Surveillance Scheme. The government has now sanctioned a total of Rs. 110.68 crore for the successful implementation of the event. Following that, the state government would appoint personnel at various roles and ranks to improve jail security and administration.
