Overview of Points Related to Covid-19

Coronavirus is a family of viruses that can cause illness, namely, severe acute, common cold, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome(MARS), and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS). This virus undergoes mutation.

Coronavirus disease, also known as COVID-19, is a contagious and infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Several people around the globe got affected by this infectious virus. The people affected by this virus experienced moderate to mild metabolism illness and recovered without requiring specific treatment. However, some people had become very seriously ill and required serious medical attention. The people older in age about above 60, subsequent to the medical conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or cancer, were most likely to create or develop serious unwellness.

In this article, we’ll tell you about the mutation of COVID-19, the strain of Covid-19.

What is SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19?

Now that you have become familiar with the pandemic, let’s get down to some of the basic and detailed facts about Covid-19.

SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19 is an infectious and common viral disease that causes an infection in your nose, upper throat, or sinuses.  Most of the viruses causing coronavirus are not very dangerous, but some are. The spread of COVID-19 started in 2020, after December 2019, which had an irruption in China. Bit by bit, the outbreak of COVID-19 spread around the whole world.

SARS-CoV-2 Causes the disease COVID-19, which causes an infection in the respiratory tract. COVID-19 and its strains can affect your throat, nose, lungs, windpipe, and sinuses.

What are the strains of COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2?

In various studies on the early cases of COVID-19 in China, they found two strains. The two strains found were named L and S. The type S of SARS-CoV-2 is older, but the L type of SARS-CoV-2 was more common in the initial stages of the eruption of the virus COVID-19.

Generally, it is very normal for a virus to change or have its mutation as does, so it has infected people. There are now various variants that are propagating or spreading, and in that, some of them are deadly and contagious compared to the first or original virus.

The scientists had named the strains of COVID-19 as:

  • Beta
  • Alpha
  • Gamma
  • Delta
  • Omicron
  • Lambda
  • Mu

Whereas if we talk about statistics and the difference between covid-19 and other plagues in history, we must notice that approximately 4 million cases are reported, and the world faces 25000-500000 deaths worldwide.

Conclusion

Covid-19 emerged in December 2019 from a small city in China reportedly, and it made more than 150 Nations vulnerable to a virus unknown to the world. This virus has a large fatality rate and was incurable at that time. The world health organisation declared it a pandemic considering the outburst, and the world faced a pause. The Covid-19 virus was undergoing a mutation, and this led to newer variants like Omicron and Delta, which could be dealt with with the research going on in several serum Institutes. This article provides you with a comprehensive guide to the important facts about Covid-19 and other relevant information like the symptoms and precautions.
