List of Awards and Honours in Bihar

Are you willing to learn about the awards in Bihar, whether it's the Padma awards 2022 and who is honoured with it? Then this guide will help you to learn all about it briefly and in the simplest way.

Awards

Recipients get awards as a mark of appreciation for their accomplishments in a particular field. It is a decoration when the token is a medal, ribbon, or another object that may be worn. Individuals like students and athletes are frequent recipients, as are organisations, sports teams, and nations as a whole, which are represented by the recipients. Decorations, such as medals, badges, and rosettes, can be used as reward items (awards). In addition, it can be a token item, such as a certificate or a diploma. Prizes and scholarships, in addition to honorary degrees, can be considered awards.

Other prominent references are given to educators, and while they do not elevate the winner’s status, it is considered an honour to have their names mentioned. Sovereign nations, dynasties, other public institutions, or private groups or people can bestow prizes as state honours. Other examples include church groups, such as rewards for excellence in the church.

As an example, the Nobel Prize rewards social accomplishments, whereas the Pulitzer Prize honours literary excellence. Awards can be given to individuals or organisations merely for their achievements, with no strings attached.

Padma awards Bihar 2022

The Padma Award, the country’s most prestigious civilian honour, is awarded in three categories. Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and Padma Shri are the three subcategories of Padma Bhushan. Outstanding service is provided by “Padma Vibhushan” (outstanding in all sectors), “Padma Bhushan” (outstanding in the highest ranks), and “Padma Shri.”

In addition to the arts, social welfare, public affairs, science and technology, business and industry, medical, literary studies, sports and public service, these honours are bestowed across a wide range of subjects and professions. The President of India presents these honours on “Republic Memorial Day” every year, generally in March or April, in a solemn ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan.

128 Padma Awards, including two Jody Awards, were awarded this year by the President (the awards given to the couple count as one award). Moreover, half of the Padma Award recipients were women. Ten of them were foreigners / NRIs / PIOs / OCIs.

One hundred and twenty-eight Padma Awards were announced by the President on January 25, 2022, in honour of the 73rd Republic Anniversary. Shaibal Gupta and Acharya Chandnaji, both from Bihar, have been awarded the Padma Shri Medal for their contributions to their fields. Social work was chosen for Acharya Chandnaji of Bihar, and Shaibal Gupta was chosen after death for the Padma Shri Award for Literature and Education.
