Narendra Damodardas Modi, the Prime Minister of India, is currently serving as the 14th Prime Minister of the country. The former Chief Minister of Gujarat was first elected as the Prime Minister in 2014. He is a member of the renowned Indian political party- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Narendra Modi led his political party, BJP, in the 2014 elections, where they won a majority in the Lok Sabha. The Indian Government under Modi is striving to increase foreign direct investment. The Prime Minister is also trying to enhance the bureaucracy’s efficiency. His efforts for the country are undoubtedly appreciable. In addition to all that he has achieved in India, the Prime minister has also been recognized with numerous international awards.

The present Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has been honored with several international awards that signify his leadership and vision for the country. Below is a list of the International awards received by him to date.
- Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud
On April 3, 2016, Narendra Modi was honored with the highest Civilian Award of Saudi Arabia- The Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud. It is the highest Civilian Award of Saudi Arabia given to non-Muslim dignitaries. At the Royal Court, Modi was presented this award by King Salman bin Abdulaziz. This award is named after the founder of the Modern Saudi state- Abdulaziz Al Saud.
State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan
The year 2016 was quite fortunate for Narendra Modi as after the Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud, he received the State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan in the same year. On June 4, 2016, Modi was honored with the highest Civilian honor in Afghanistan. The State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan is named after Amanullah Khan (Ghazi), a national hero of Afghanistan. He was a supporter of the freedom of Afghanistan. Narendra Modi is the Eighth recipient of the State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan. Before him, this honor was given to the former President of the US- George W. Bush, the present President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, and James Jones, who is NATO General.
- Grand Collar of the State of Palestine
Next in line, while mentioning Narendra Modi Awards is the highest civilian award of Palestine that is awarded to foreign dignitaries- the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine. On February 10, 2018, Narendra Modi became the 4th recipient of this civilian honor. The Grand Collar of the State of Palestine was also received by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman in 2015, Bahrain’s King Hamad in 2017, and China’s President Xi Jinping in 2017.
- Champions of the Earth Award
In the year 2018, in October, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, was awarded the Champions of the Earth award. This award was established in 2005 by The United Nations Environment Programme. It is awarded to the environmental leaders.
- Order of Zayed Award
On April 4, 2019, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, was honored with the highest civilian award of the UAE- The Order of Zayed Award. The most notable point is that he is the first Indian to receive this award. Modi is the 17th recipient of the Order of Zayed Award.
- Order of St. Andrew award
Narendra Modi was honored with the Order of St. Andrew award. It is the highest civilian award in Russia. On April 12, 2019, Narendra Modi became the first Indian to receive this award. In 1698, this award was established. But, it was abolished under the USSR. In 1998, it was reestablished as the highest civilian award in Russia.
- The highest civilian award of Maldives
On June 8, 2019, there was another addition to the Narendra Modi awards. He was honored with the highest civilian award of the Maldives- The Order of the Distinguished Rule of Nishan Izzuddin. The Prime Minister of India became the 7th recipient of the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Nishan Izzuddin. This award is also received by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
- Global Goalkeeper award
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded Narendra Modi with the Global goalkeeper award in September 2019. He was honored with this award for his Swachh Bharat Mission.

The dynamic political leader Narendra Modi is honored with numerous international awards for his continuous efforts for India and the world. His actions for the environment are also a leading reason for him being recognized by several countries and honoring him with their highest civilian awards.
