Important Personalities And Their Contribution To Indian History

There are several eminent personalities who have played an eminent role in building a better India and helped it to reach the pinnacle of success globally. 

Personalities like Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam, Dr B. R Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh and many more contributed much to Indian history, and it is because of their contributions that India is considered a world heritage and a golden bird. 

India’s History

India’s history goes back to the time when it was caged under the shackles of the Britishers and how the freedom fighters fought for its Independence. 

Mahatma Gandhi, also known as the ‘father of the nation’, led a movement that ignited the fire of independence in the heart of every Indian and he, along with the army of the brave men, led the Satyagraha Movement. 

Mahatma Gandhi was known for his non-violence and courage. He managed to get the Britishers out of the country by being non-violent and emerged as the famous freedom fighter known in Indian History. 

Bhagat Singh was known for his bravery and courage. He didn’t surrender before the Britishers even though he was tortured relentlessly by them. The Britishers didn’t spare him but acknowledged his bravery and courage towards his motherland. 

There are many more leaders who are still admired by the people of India and have contributed deeply to Indian History. 

Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of Independent India, is known as one of the most successful prime ministers in Indian History. Nehru has been praised for his successful term and the policies he laid for the betterment of the country. Let us have a look at the contribution of Dr A. P. J Abdul Kalam and Dr B. R Ambedkar to Indian History. 

Dr A. P. J Abdul Kalam

15th October 1931 marks the birthday of Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam, also referred to as the Missile Man of India. He is also one of the most celebrated and renowned presidents in Indian History. He had a very difficult childhood, but that didn’t deter his spirit from studying and making a difference in the society 

He used to sell newspapers to support his family and education. He was a doting brother to his siblings and an obedient father to his parents. He was a brilliant student throughout his life and had a great will to study. He later on, pursued his education and became a scientist and served as the Scientist at DRDO and ISRO, respectively. 

Due to his knowledge of space and missile making, he was chosen by the Government of India to help in the development of the first indigenous missile -SLV. Due to his immense knowledge, he was also given the responsibility for the production of the missiles AGNI and PRITHVI and also looked after their operations. 

Due to his capability in missile making, he was selected as the advisor to the Defence Minister. He played a pivotal role in the testing of the nuclear weapons at the Pokhran Site in the year 1988, and this helped India emerge as the leader in the nuclear-weapon state. 

He is also said to be behind the making of the cost-effective Kalam Raju Stent, which helped in reducing the price of the heart stent by many folds. 

Dr B. R Ambedkar

Dr B. R Ambedkar is said to be the man who played a pivotal role in the making of the constitution of India. He was a great scholar and had a great will to study different constitutions of various countries. Due to his interest in the study of the constitutions, he was involved in the writing of the Indian Constitution. 

Dr B. R Ambedkar is also known as the person who fought bravely for the backward castes in India, especially the Dalits. He is celebrated by the Dalits all over the country, and they look up to him as their father and is also referred to as Baba Sahib. 

Dr B. R Ambedkar is also known for changing the hierarchical system in India by making people aware of the problems due to the caste system. He fought relentlessly against the injustice towards the people of the backward caste in the name of the caste system in India.

There are many eminent personalities in Indian History whose life is really remarkable and inspiring. One should study the life of these famous personalities and try to imbibe some of their qualities in our daily life and help us to become a better version of ourselves.
