In a country like India, where agriculture is one of the most known occupations and one of the country’s main pillars of the country’s economic system, the country will need more water in different places. During monsoon, these rivers get overflown and can even create a situation of flood. The dams are the best option to prevent the flood and store this water at that particular time. Not only for this rainwater river but the other rivers as well. The other rivers flow constant water throughout the year, so it is also an excellent option to store some of the water in Dams.

Usage of the Dam Water and Example of Dams

Some famous dams of Rajasthan are the Bisalpur dam, which is also the biggest dam in the state of Rajasthan, and the river Banas. On a count, there are 231 dams in Rajasthan, and all of those store a lot of water. Along with that, spillways in the dam can help release the water whenever needed and help the water flow. This water can be converted to places where the water is needed the most. That can be an agricultural field, industry, or for regular use.

Bisalpur dam is one of India’s biggest dams and the biggest dam in Rajasthan. This state faces the water crisis the most; in many places, water can’t be found in kilometres; there, the dams can help people by providing an adequate amount of water throughout the year when they need it.
