Dams of Maharashtra
Maharashtra is one of the large countries having a supply of the largest river of India in phrases of water inflows and river basin area, the Godavari and Krishna rivers. There are around 1821 small, big and large dams in Maharashtra, constructed on the foremost rivers consisting of the Koyna river, Bhima river and Wardha Wainganga river. It is an earthen plus masonry type of dam, and it serves the purpose of irrigation. The dam’s height above its lowest base is 33.97 m (111.5 ft), while the length is 1,550 m (5,090 ft). Name: bhalwani dam
Bhawani dam is located in the city of partner, district of Ahmednagar, in the state of Maharashtra. The river that flows through this dam is the river Kapori, and the basin is the Godavari. It is an earthen type of dam that serves the purpose of irrigation and was completed in the year 1973.
The majority of the population has agriculture as their main occupation. About 70% of the Bhawani population has the surname “Rohokale”. Bhalawani is located on the NagarKalyan National Highway, 20 km from Ahmednagar district. The village of Bhawani is situated on the banks of the Kapri River. There is an MIDC with zone D+, which includes about 30 medium-sized manufacturing companies.
