An Indian Committee formed regarding an issue is a cornerstone of the judicial system of the country, in terms of monitoring and judging national concerns.

India has a diversified judicial system for respective concerns and resolving those issues with utmost authenticity. The present assignment is going to outline the concept of a committee along with its utter presence within the country. Further, the assignment continues by discussing the role of the Parliament Committee and the Child Welfare Committee in the Indian context. Additionally, the assignment is going to outline the roles and responsibilities of the Child Welfare Committee in India along with its importance in the current political and social context of the country in the long run.

What is a committee?

A committee is a group of people that are delegated to investigate, consider record and take necessary action on some of the necessary national concerns. It is generally formed by the parliamentary bodies in response to national concerns and significant incidents happening within the country. Committees can serve multiple purposes based on the different needs of the country and its judiciary system. Sometimes, committees are formed in order to provide advice to concerned authorities in their way of resolving issues within the country.

A discussion on the parliament committees

Parliamentary Committee is a committee that is formed by the House or elected by the Speaker of the parliament in order to report different incidents within the country. The committee is commonly constituted by the Parliament and its respected authorities in a considerable volume. Parliament Committees can be categorized into two types that are the Standing Committees and the Ad hoc Committees. The Standing committees within the Parliament are constituted in order to pursue and implement new acts and services within the country. On the other hand, the Ad hoc Committees are there for passing bills and regulations for the judiciary system of the country. 

What is the role of the Parliament committee?

Parliament committees are formed in order to perform necessary actions based on the level of needs in the national context. The key role of the parliament committee is to study the demand for grants within the ministries and pass them according to the necessity. Further, it looks into the expenditures of various departments working within the parliamentary sectors. The committee also incurs the necessities of the parliamentary departments. Additionally, these committees are effective in terms of demolishing corruption by investigating them as a national concern. 

A short note on the Child Welfare Committee in India

The Child Welfare Committee is the authority that is responsible for disposing of the cases of child care and child protection within the countries. The committee is primarily formed in order to protect, treat and foster improvement for the children and their upbringing within the country. Basically, the Child Welfare Committee controls the human rights of children along with taking control over their basic needs and compliance with the Indian judiciary. 

Roles and responsibilities of the Child Welfare Committee in India

The Child Welfare Committee is predominantly active within the country in terms of providing justice and human rights to children. The further roles and responsibilities of the Child Welfare Committee are discussed below.

●   Providing protection and childcare

●   Arranging rehabilitation for children

●   Guiding children regarding their human rights

●   Providing treatment and healthcare protection to children 

●   Documenting the issues of children that are in serious need of childcare

Further, the committee operates on four different categories of services that involve child protection, family-centred support and services, child adoption and fostering child care successfully for the children. These steps can be effective for initiating effective childcare within India in the next few years.

Current Affairs on committee

In 2022, several important committees were formed.

·         High level task force to analyze the sanctions against Russia and its impact on India: It is associated with the sanctions outlined by the USA against Russian banks, oils and refineries. This committee was formed in March, 2022. 

·         In February 2022, SEBI restructured an important committee associated with compounding of offences and settlement orders, SEBI also restructured an advisory committee associated with investor protection

·         An energy transition advisory committee has been set in January, 2022.

·         A committee was set up by the Supreme Court to investigate the security breach of the PM in Punjab.

Conclusion

The parliamentary committee is made in order to respond to different incidents that are taking place within the jurisdiction of the Lok Sabha. Some committees can be formed in order to collect and gather information regarding something or some incidents taking place under the jurisdiction of the country’s parliament. In this scenario, the involvement of the Children Welfare Committee is effective in terms of serving justice to children by outlining their human rights to them. Hence, it can be concluded that the currently active committees within the country are effective in terms of maintaining the authenticity of the judicial system of India.
