Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML) is an undertaking of the Government of Rajasthan which is primarily engaged in mining rock phosphate, lignite, SMS grade limestone and gypsum through its mines which are situated in various locations in Rajasthan. The state enjoys 81 different types of major and minor minerals. This is the reason why the work of mines is done in the state on an extensive level.
Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Ltd. is a multiple location organisation founded in 1949 by a private company Bikaner Gypsum Limited (BGL). Later, in 1969 when rock phosphate in Jhamarkotra (Udaipur) was discovered BGL took all the responsibility to do the work of mining at Jhamarkotra mines.
To increase the profit of the company the government of Rajasthan acquired the company. The name of the company was also changed to Rajasthan state of Mines and Minerals Limited.
The work structure of this company is decided according to the type of minerals it is extracting from the particular place. This means that if a particular location has a lot of minerals then the majority of the resources of the company will be allocated to that region. Also, if a particular mineral requires a lot of machinery and manpower then the maximum financial resources will be allowed to that location.

The primary objective of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Ltd. is to find new innovative technologies that help them in mining of minerals. It also aims to expand and diversify its mining business. The company also focuses on providing long term fuel supply to lignite based power projects. Several plans have also been made to set up wind energy farms at Jaisalmer.

- Strategic Business Unit and Profit Centre – Limestone at Jodhpur
- Strategic Business Unit and Profit Centre –Lignite at Jaipur
