Chhattisgarh: State Wide Area Network

The Chhattisgarh State Wide Area Network (CG-SWAN) is the most important as well as the most ambitious project under the National e-Governance Plan in the state of Chhattisgarh. This project was planned initially to improve the government planning, department, and agencies by improving their hold, understanding, and utilization of information technology. With the help of analyzing the information technology that will be collected from multiple sources, the government will improve its workforce and the overall efficiency of the government would increase. For these reasons, the project underwent as per the vision of the government of Chhattisgarh. With the help of the project, the state will become much more reliable in terms of information technology because various types of interdepartmental communication processes will be made possible. This will be done via voice traffic and data. the project aims to connect all the 146 blocks of the state of Chhattisgarh through a safe, fast, and reliable hybrid network. The network will consist of RF, MPLS leased line, and a few other reliable technologies. As mentioned earlier, all the government departments will become more connected than ever before and will improve efficiency and decision-making. 

National e-Governance Plan

The CG-SWAN is a major project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) and both the central government and the Chhattisgarh government are in this project together. This project is a huge one and will require a lot of time and planning to make it successful. The Chhattisgarh SWAN is one of the larger SWAN projects in the country since the day it was announced, it put major emphasis on connecting all the blacks and districts of the state. This plan is in full force now as the entire country is going through massive changes as far as digitization is concerned. This offers a holistic view of the aspect of e-governance and has a shared cause. The entire cause is to utilize the available technology and work on the emerging ones as well and try to provide the people of the country including residents of the most remote places in the country better service. 

Resourceful Deliverance 

As a result of these plans and projects, there will be an improvement in the resourceful deliverance of the state. The development of resourceful deliverance has taken place because if information technology improves and the data is reliable and consistent, the efficiency of the government will improve a lot and it is always the case that if the efficiency of any process improves, the resource management improves as well. Without a doubt. 

Implementing Agency

The CG-SWAN has been a project that has been implemented by the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). It aims to revolutionize the governance in the country by changing the e-Governance landscape through the aid of information technology and digitization. 

Conclusion

The Government of India and Electronics and IT Department, the Government of Chhattisgarh, and Deity joined forces to make the CG-SWAN project a reality. As a result of this ambitious project, Chhattisgarh has now become much more reliable and much faster than before in terms of e-governance services and the government departments have also become much more reliable and efficient. Rural areas are also getting access to government services via electronic media and thus, there is a state-wise digitalization revolution.
