In this study, in-depth exploration has been conducted by delving into the notions of schemes that are initiated as well implemented by both the central and state governments. It is to be understood that the importance of the scheme caters to massive development and growth of the civilians of the entire country. This also focuses on the various groups and strata of the society providing them with the support or assistance in promoting a better lifestyle in general. These schemes and yojanas support civilians in many aspects that will help them in elevating their lifestyles, such as providing education degrees, support in providing internships and many others.
Introduction of schemes by Governments
Delving into the study, it is quite well noted that schemes introduced by the government long back are nothing new to the citizens of India. The government introduces one scheme after another that seems to benefit the Indian masses in general, providing them with a better lifestyle. Furthermore, in this study, discussion has been made on the various schemes that are initiated by the government of centre and state.
What are schemes?
Schemes are quite essential as they provide a proper and effective plan in order to fulfil several set forth objectives based on the present conditions. These plans are systematic in nature and are long term plans that will support resolving critical issues and thereby promoting stability.
What are government schemes?
As we all know that the schemes are systemic development plans that support resolving crucial situations, therefore it can be easily understood that the government schemes are plans that work as a support system for the civilians of the nation. These schemes are introduced in order to conduct welfare in terms of society and economy thereby resolving the problems. Furthermore, these schemes also create awareness among the civilians to make them more concerned about their rights.
What are the schemes of the State government?
“State government schemes” are the same just like the central government but these schemes primarily cater to the people of a particular state and focus on welfare. These schemes also cater to creating awareness among the civilians. Several schemes are there that are implemented by the state government. Catering to the states of West Bengal, names of few schemes are as follows.
- “Vidyashree Scholarship Scheme”, effectively supports minority students to further effectively conduct their education by providing them with financial support.
- “Parijayee Sahay”, this scheme supports migrant workers by providing them with “dry ration” and other benefits possible to support them.
- “Hawker Support Scheme, 2020”m this scheme has been introduced in order to support the hawkers as most of their livelihoods got affected due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
What are the schemes of the Central government?
Central government schemes were also initiated and implemented to provide welfare to the Indian citizens, by effectively enhancing their lives in various aspects. Some of them are as follows,
- “Ayushman Bharat Yojana (Central Government Health Scheme)”, basically caters to promoting better health of the Indian citizens.
- “Digital India” refers to a flagship program for digital transformation.

Several types of schemes are noticed that focus on educating the children of India, empowering the women and thereby establishing gender equality. Moreover, digitization of all processes is also introduced to provide a better lifestyle. Some of them are, “Digital India”, “Midday meals”, “Atal Pension Yojana” and many more.

The objectives are, providing development to the backward classes, declining economic equality, promoting gender equality opportunities for employment and many more. Major and crucial schemes are as well discussed to provide an overview of how the government is providing its assistance to the civilians.

In concluding the study, primary focus has been given to providing extensive knowledge about the schemes in India. Furthermore, the study has effectively dealt with the notions of schemes, by answering the questions that determine what are schemes, why governments initiated the notions of schemes and as well as schemes that are introduced by both the central and state governments. Moreover, discussions have also been conducted that show how beneficial the schemes are with respect to the development of the civilians of India.
