The mouse and keyboard initially had their own input jack and those were primarily connected through the data cable. The input devices, such as the keyboard and mouse help us enter data into a computer.

• The mouse is one of the most usable and popular cursor control-oriented input devices. It is primarily looked at as a small palm-sized round ball. The movement of the mouse and clicking process corresponds to sending the information to the CPU to initiate the output result. 
• The joystick is symbolized as a pointing device, which is initially used to move the actual cursor position on the monitor screen. It looks like a spherical ball with both upper and lower ends. The function of the joystick is derivatively similar to the mouse, thus it is used in playing different types of games and “computer-aided designing” (CAD).   

Functions of the input device

• Input devices primarily accept the information data from the user and outside of the information environment.
