IBPS Clerk Application Process 

The authoritative body of IBPS has set some criteria which candidates need to follow to apply for the exam. The application process includes registration, filling out an online form, fee payment, etc. The application procedure for the exam is given below. 

However, candidates should keep the following points in mind before applying for the exam:

a) Applicants need to scan their: 

i) Photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm). The preferred dimensions are 200 x 230 pixels.

ii) Signature on white paper with a black pen. The size of the file should be between 10kb-20kb and the preferred dimensions are 140 x 60 pixels.

iii) Left thumb impression on white paper with blue or black ink. The file type should be .jpg , .jpeg.  The dimensions need to be 240 x 240 pixels in 200 DPI (Preferred for required quality) i.e. 3 cm * 3 cm (Width * Height). The file size should be   20-50KB. 

(In case the candidate does not have a left thumb, he or she can use his/her right hand thumb. If both the thumbs are missing, the impression of any one of the left hand fingers, starting from the forefinger, can be taken. If there are no fingers on the left hand, fingers of the right hand can be used. The impression of the left toe can be taken if there are no fingers in hand. If the candidate does not have a left thumb impression, the name of the finger and the left/right hand or toe specification should be specified in the uploaded document. )

iv) A proclamation written by hand (text given below) {Candidates who are unable to write should have the declaration text typed and their left hand thumb impression (if they are unable to sign) placed beneath the typed declaration, then submit the document according to the guidelines. ensuring that all of the scanned papers meet the necessary standards}

b) Capital lettered signatures will not be accepted.

c) Left thumb impression must not be blurred or smudged and need to be clearly scanned.

d) The format for hand written proclamation is as specified here- “I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”  

e) The required hand written declaration needs to be written by applicants in English only. It cannot be in capital letters. Otherwise, it will not be acceptable.

f) The details or documents should be kept handy before proceeding to make fee payment/intimation charges.

g) Candidates must have a valid email address that must be maintained active until the end of the Common Recruitment Process cycle. IBPS may issue call letters for examinations and other information to the registered e-mail address. Under no conditions should a candidate disclose or mention another person’s e-mail address. If an applicant does not have an active personal e-mail ID, he or she must acquire one before applying online and keep it active.

Procedure for applying online

a) Candidates need to visit the IBPS website and click on the CRP Clerks tab on Home Page. After that, click on the option named Click Here To Apply Online For CRP- Clerks (CRP-Clerks- XI) to open the online application form.

b) Candidates must register their application by clicking “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” and providing their general details in the online application form. The computer will then issue a provisional registration number and password that will be displayed on the screen. The provisional registration number and password need to be noted down by the candidate for further usage. The Provisional Registration number and Password will also be provided via email and SMS. They can use the provisional registration number and password to access the stored data and change the information if necessary.

c) Candidates need to upload the following- 

i) Photograph

ii) Left thumb impression

iii) Signature

iv) A hand written declaration

d) Candidates are requested to enter the details in the online application carefully because no changes to the data entered in the online application will be entertained. Candidates need to click on the “SAVE AND NEXT” tab to double-check the details in the online application form and make changes before submitting it. After clicking the COMPLETE REGISTRATION button, no changes are allowed. Candidates who are blind or visually impaired are responsible for carefully verifying/obtaining the details provided in the online application form and ensuring that they are correct before submission, since no changes can be made after submission.

e) In the online application, the candidate should specify which state he or she prefers for provisional assignment upon selection. Once you’ve exercised your option, you won’t be able to back out.

Fee Payment

a) Candidates must properly enter the details in the On-Line Application format at the proper areas and then click the “COMPLETE REGISTRATION” button at the end of the format. Candidates are urged to double-check every field filled in the application before pressing the “COMPLETE REGISTRATION” button. The candidate’s name, as well as the names of his or her father, husband, and other relatives, should be spelled correctly in the application, as they appear on certificates and mark sheets. Any change found anywhere can lead to the candidate’s disqualification. When the information is stored, the system will generate a provisional registration number and password, which will be displayed on the screen. The Provisional Registration number and Password will also be provided through email and SMS. The change in details can be made using a provisional registration number and password by accessing the stored data,  if necessary. The candidate should submit the data after thoroughly filling out the application.

b) The application form is already associated with the payment gateway and the process can be carried out by following the guidelines displayed on screen.

c) Payment can be done using Debit cards (RuPay, MasterCard, Visa, Maestro), Credit card, IMPS, Internet Banking, Cash cards/mobile wallets by entering the required details.

d) Candidates need to fill in the requisite details on the next page after the submission of the fee.

e) Participants need to log in again with the provisional registration number if the transaction fails and then make the payment.

f) An e-receipt will be issued upon successful completion of the transaction.

g) Candidates must take a printout of the application form and e-receipt after completing the procedure. 

Note: 

  • Please wait for the server’s notification after submitting your payment information in the online application form, and DO NOT hit the Back or Refresh button to avoid a double charge
  • All charges are shown in Indian Rupee for credit card users, for foreign credit cards your bank will convert the amount to your local currency using current exchange rates
  • Candidates must exit the browser tab to ensure the security of their data upon the successful completion of the transaction

After completing the online application process, including payment of fees and intimation charges, the candidate should print the system-generated online application form, double-check the information, and keep it with the Registration Number and Password for future reference. This printout should not be sent to the IBPS or banks.
