Is the electric charge a scalar or a vector quantity?

Ans. Electric charge may contain magnitude and direction but is a scalar quantity only. It doesn’t follow the laws of vector addition, as when two currents meet at a point, the resultant electric current is not equal to the vector sum of the two currents. It is the algebraic sum, and hence electric charge can’t be considered a vector quantity.
