The Frigid Zone, Temperate Zone, and Torrid Zone are the three different heat zones of the Earth. The Torrid Zone is just the hottest of the different zones since it is closest to the equator. The Temperate Zone can be broken into two zones along either side of the Torrid Zone and has temperatures in the range from warm to cool. The frigid zones seem to be the world’s coldest places, usually covered with ice and snow. Because it is farthest from the equator, it receives slanting sunbeams.
HISTORY
Greek scholar Parmenides proposed the concept of just a geographical zone, which was later developed by Aristotle. Based on the distance from the equator, both philosophers proposed that the Earth be split into three sorts of climatic zones.
Aristotle termed the region surrounding the equator the “Torrid Zone” after Parmenides, who thought the zone close to the equator was much too hot for living. The territory out from the Arctic Circle towards the pole, according to both philosophers, is perpetually frozen. The “Frigid Zone” was named after this region, which was supposed to be uninhabitable. The northern “Temperate Zone,” which lies in-between “Frigid Zones” and thus the “Torrid Zone,” was the only place thought to be habitable (the southern one had not been located). THE TORRID ZONE
It is the area between the Tropic of Cancer (23.5 degrees North) and the Tropic of Capricorn (23.5 degrees South) because the midday Sunlight is directly overhead at a minimum each year in all latitudes, This zone receives the most heat from the Sun. The torrid zone is the region of the earth closest to the Equator. Usually, the Torrid Zone is extremely hot. This one has a wet and dry phase, but not the four seasons that residents of temperate countries further from the equator are familiar with. The atmosphere, ecology, and geographic characteristics are all influenced by the torrid region’s temperature. It can be found halfway in between the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn.
THE TEMPERATURE ZONE
In the northern hemisphere, the temperature zone is the zone between both the Tropic of Cancer (23.5 degrees N) and the Arctic Circle (66.5 degrees N), while in the southern hemisphere. The temperature zone is the zone between the Tropic of Capricorn (23.5 degrees S) and the Antarctic Circle (66.5 degrees S). On Earth, there must be two temperate zones. The temperature is moderate in this zone since the midday sun never rises above the tropics of cancer and Capricorn, and the angle decreases as we approach the poles.
THE FRIGID ZONE
In the northern hemisphere, it is located between the Arctic Circle (66.5 degrees N) and the North Pole (90 degrees N), while in the southern hemisphere, it is located between the Antarctic Circle (66.5 degrees S) and the South Pole (90 degrees S). The day lasts a year in the centre of the said zone (the pole), with 6 months of sunlight and 6 months of darkness. The frigid zones seem to be the world’s coldest places, usually covered with ice and snow. Because it is farthest from the equator, it receives slanting sunbeams. Summer lasts roughly 2 to 3 months in this location, and there are about 24 hours of sunlight during this time. The sun doesn’t always rise far over Horizon in this region, and the always inclined rays do not produce much heat; consequently, it is known as the cold Zone.
