Time formula
Formula of time basically means the time which is or will be taken by any object or a thing a cover or completes a particular distance at a given speed s is termed as the SI unit of time.
As we know that time is the interval between an object reaching a particular place at a given speed. So there is a formula through which we can capsulate the time which is taken by any object. This goes from past to present and then it moves from present to future.
The formula for taking out time:
Time = distance/ speed
So basically, we can only find out time when the speed and the distance to be covered by any object are provided.
Solved Examples
1. How much time will an object take it the distance which it has to cover is 3600m and the speed at which it is around 2 meter per second.
Answer:
Here, the distance which needs to be covered is given which is 3600 m and the speed at which the object is moving is 2 meter per second.
On applying the formula of time:
Distance = 3600m
Speed = 2 meter/sec.
Time = distance/ speed
Therefore,
Time = 3600/2
This is 1800 seconds taken by the object.
Here we can say that the object takes 1800 seconds in covering 3600 m at the speed of 2m/ sec.
2. Use the time formula and find out the time taken by a person when he is running at the speed of 20 km/ hr and the distance he needs to cover is 400 km.
Answer:
The distance he needs to cover is 400 km and the speed at which he is running is 20 km/hr.
So the time taken will be the distance to be covered divided by the speed at which he is.
Therefore, after applying the formula:
Time = distance/ speed.
We get that Time = 400 /20.
So the time that he will take while covering 400 kilo meters at the speed of 20 km/hr is 20 Hours.
