Who is a Chief Minister?
A state government’s council of ministers is led by a chief minister, who can be deputised by a deputy chief minister. The chief minister usually appoints the chief secretary and can also assign departments to cabinet ministers and ministers of state as they see fit.

What is NITI Aayog?
The NITI Aayog is the Government of India’s apex public policy think tank and the nodal agency tasked with catalysing economic development and fostering cooperative federalism through the bottom-up involvement of State Governments in the economic policy-making process.
Members of NITI Aayog
A Governing Council made up of the Chief Ministers of all States and Union Territories with Legislatures, as well as the lieutenant governors of Union Territories.
Chief Ministers of States and Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories in the region for Regional Councils to address specific issues and contingencies that affect more than one state or region.
A Vice-Chairperson, four full-time members, and two part-time members make up the full-time organisational framework.
NITI Aayog is currently chaired by the Prime Minister, and its Vice Chairperson is Rajiv Kumar. Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitaraman, and Narendra Singh are ex-officio members. Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Virendra Kumar, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Rao Inderjit Singh are among the special invitees.
V. K. Saraswat, Ramesh Chand, and Dr. V. K. Paul is a full-time member. Amitabh Kant is the company’s chief executive officer (CEO). All Chief Ministers of States make up the Governing Council.
Conclusion
This initiative aims to bring internationally renowned policymakers, experts, and administrators to India to share their knowledge, expertise, and experience in policymaking and good governance with Indian counterparts. This initiative will consist of a series of lectures, the first of which will be delivered by Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister.
He gave a lecture at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on the topic “India and the Global Economy.” The Prime Minister discussed the motivation behind the lecture series, stating that his vision for India is rapid transformation rather than gradual evolution.
