Discretionary power	In the time of selecting the chief minister of any state, the governor can use his own discretion in terms of lack of certainty. In an emergency, the governor is not bound to follow the advice of a council of ministers and is free to implement any urgent decisions.

Functions of the supreme commander of the armed forces

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is considered as responsible to manage the Indian Armed Forces. The president of India is found to play the role of supreme commander of the armed forces.
