According to article 263 in the Indian Constitution, the establishment of the Inter-State council can be easily done. Functions of the Inter-State Council
As it has been mentioned that the Inter-State Council of the country works together in perfect coordination that helps in the proper functioning of the whole system given below are the few functions related to the Inter-State Council of the country:
- The council can inquire and advise upon all the disputes that might emerge or have already emerged between the different states.
- The council helps in the making of different suggestions on any subjects which help in the better working of the Government and also helps in proper coordination of the policies that have been made in addition to this day also take care that all the actions that are taken are in favor of that subject.
The council also comes together to investigate and discuss subjects in which the States of the Union have a common interest. In the 11th Inter-State meeting of the Council the following discussions were made:
- They were discussions that were made regarding the internal security of the country that also focus on the sharing of Intelligence and the synchronization so that terrorism can be easily against and for the reformation and moderation in the police services could be done.
- The Puncchii Commission’s recommendations were also taken into consideration when the subjects related to the center state relations were discussed.
- The improvement in the quality of education in the country was also taken into consideration so that there is improvement in the outcomes of learning and the students give a better performance.
- The usage of the Aadhar system and the DBT were also discussed to be enforced for providing different benefits, public services and subsidies to the citizens of the country.

- The council also includes all the six Union Cabinet Ministers, this also including the Home Minister of the country, which are to be nominated by the Prime Minister of the country.
