Current Chief Minister 

The government in Punjab is headed by Bhagwant Mann, who was appointed as the 17th chief minister of Punjab on 18 January, 2022 following the Legislative Assembly elections of Punjab. Bhagwant Mann represents the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and won over 93% in the recent state elections by winning 92 out of 117 seats. Bhagwant Mann is the youngest chief minister of Punjab at the age of 48 and is originally from the Satoj village in the Sangrur district of Punjab.

  • Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries – These departments are governed under the leadership of Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, who hails from Amritsar in Punjab and took office on 16 March, 2022. 

  • Department of Finance – This department is currently under the leadership of Harpal Singh Cheema from the Dirba Assembly Constituency in the Sangrur district of Punjab, who took office on 16 March, 2022. 

  • Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs – Lal Chand Kataruchak,  who took office on 16 March, 2022, governs it from the Bhoa Assembly Constituency of the Punjab government.

  • Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and minorities – This department is under the leadership of Baljit Kaur from the Malout Assembly Constituency of Punjab. He took office on 16 March, 2022.

  • Department of Health & Family Welfare – Headed by Vijay Single from the Manda Assembly Constituency of Punjab, who took office on 16 March, 2022.

  • Department of Hospitality – It is currently governed under the leadership of Laljit Singh Bhullar from the Patti Assembly Constituency of Punjab, who took office on 16 March, 2022.

  • Department of Jails – Harjot Singh Bains, who took office on 16 March, 2022, heads it from the Anandpur Sahib Assembly Constituency of Punjab.

  • Department of School Education – under the leadership of Gurmeet Singh, Meet Hayer from the Barnala Assembly constituency of Punjab, who took office on 16 March, 2022.

  • Department of Power – It is governed under the leadership of Harbhajan Singh ETO from the Jandiala Assembly Constituency of the Punjab government. He took office on 16 March, 2022.

  • Department of Revenue, Rehabilitation & Disaster Management – The departments are under the governance of Brahm Shankar Jimpa from the Hoshiarpur Assembly Constituency of Punjab, and he stepped into office on 16 March, 2022.
