Conrad Sangma is the chief minister of Meghalaya and belongs to the National People’s Party. He was born on January 27, 1978, in Tura. His father, P.A Sangma, was the former chief minister of this state.

Classification of the Government of Meghalaya
The Government of Meghalaya is classified into three parts:
- The Legislature
- The Executive
- The Judiciary
All these bodies are responsible for the welfare and the security of the citizens of Meghalaya. The Legislative Assembly comprises six members in addition to the speaker and the Governor who are at the top of the legislature. Two out of 543 seats are reserved for Meghalaya in Lok Sabha. Meghalaya has two representatives from Tura and Shillong. Contrary to that, only one seat is reserved in the Rajya Sabha.
