Who are Ambassadors?
The U.S. Department of State defines the role of ambassador as follows: “An ambassador is the official representative of a state to a foreign government and is usually charged with addressing bilateral and international concerns, executing agreements and representing his or her home country in talks with other states”. Ambassador is the Chief Representative of India (on behalf of the Government) to various countries. The individual appointed as an ambassador has been selected for his/her expertise which may be in a particular area like management, economics, science, etc.
