• Basavaraj Bommai is an engineer who was handed over the position of chief minister by Yediyurappa. He is the 23rd chief minister of Karnataka. 
• H.D. Kumaraswamy is the 24th chief minister of Karnataka. Although his personality is overshadowed by his father, H.D. Deve Gowda, he came to be recognized as an independent politician when he was handed over the responsibilities of the chief ministership. 
• BS Yeddyurappa is the BJP leader to attain the position of chief minister. Although, he was evicted from being a BJP candidate for many reasons. 
• Jagadish Shivappa Shettar held the 21st chief ministerial position in 2012. His tenure lasted less than a year. 
• JH Patel was the 15th chief minister of Karnataka who confronted and debated for his leadership qualities. He is popular for his wisdom and patience.
