The Project Incredible India already existed in 1972, but with the rebranding of this project came the expansion of Incredible India. The campaign analysis shows a serious amount of development in the tourism sector, which was possible all because of the rebranding of this project which focused on using the diversity of Indian culture for its benefit and making it a site of attraction because of its uniqueness and diverseness.

Project Incredible India destinations

The Project Incredible India was initiated by the Government of India in 2002 to increase and expand the horizons of the tourism sector in India. This project focused on the Incredible India destinations, the hospitality of  India towards foreign people, and the awareness of the diverse culture and history of this place. This initiative was undertaken to increase tourism to those Incredible India destinations.

Various campaigns completely focused on these factors. One such campaign was the Ad campaign that gained a lot of attention from the audience. A few of these Incredible India destinations are mentioned below:

  1. Ladakh: Ladakh is known for its natural scenic beauty, beautiful view of the sunset, clear blue skies, and high mountains that surround the entire area of Ladakh. It is also very famous for its handcrafted products, woolen shawls, Kashmiri carpets, and rugs. People usually prefer visiting Ladakh while bike riding.
  2. Srinagar:  It is home to the very famous Dal Lake. People from various other places and from outside the country come to visit this place because of its spectacular view, which looks nothing less than heaven. People visit this place with houseboats which are a very common yet famous thing here. And has high-quality dry fruits.  
  3. Amritsar: The very famous golden temple of Amritsar is used to identify this place. People from all over India come here to visit the Golden Temple of Amritsar. Apart from the Amritsari kulcha, which is known in almost every state, it is made from maida and has a filling of paneer, cabbage, etc.
  4. Gulmarg: It is a famous tourist spot known for skiing. People from various other places come here to enjoy skiing with their family and friends.
  5. Parvati Valley: It is a popular tourist destination among both Indians as well as foreigners and is visited frequently by them. It is also known for its hippie cafes and high-quality cannabis plants that grow naturally in this region.
  6. Delhi: is among the very famous historical places in India and is home to various popular places like Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, etc. it is also quite known for its street food that includes Samosa, Chole Bhature, Chole Kulche, etc.
  7. Agra: Agra has the world-famous Taj Mahal, which is one of the seven wonders of the world. People from outside of India come to experience its beauty with their own eyes.
  8. Varanasi: has a lot of spiritual value attached to it and is known as one of the oldest cities to exist today. People visit this place to experience and be a part of the very famous Ganga Aarti. Other places to visit here are Sankat Mochan, Manikarnika Ghat, Vishwanath Temple, etc.
  9. Jaisalmer: This place has desert-related activities like safari. It also has the Golden Fort of Jaisalmer, which is a piece of attraction and has a royal identity. Other places to visit here are Patwon ki Haveli, The heritage museum, Tazia tower, etc.
  10. Jaipur and Udaipur: It is famous for its beautifully built Forts and palaces. It is also home to the very famous Jal Mahal and Hawa Mahal and has some of the most beautiful heritage hotels.

Expansion of Incredible India

India and its diverse cultures attract people from all over the world. We should embrace our diversity which gives us a wide range of cultures, traditions, festivals, etc., which attracts people and makes us stand out from the other places. The diverse Incredible India destinations give the tourists a variety of destinations and things to try starting from variety in food to variety in clothes, historical places, and what not. Our diversity, unlike other places, increases the curiosity among the tourists and gives them a variety of things to explore and learn about.
