1. Some famous rulers in the history of Andhra Pradesh
Gautamiputra Satakarni (230 BCE to 220 CE) – He is the most renowned ruler of Andhra Pradesh. He ruled over major parts of Andhra Pradesh during his reign.
Andhra Ikshvaku ( second century CE) – After the rule of the Satavahana dynasty, Andhra Ikshvaku ruled most of Andhra Pradesh.
Narasimhavarman I (571-630 CE) and Mahendravarman I (630- 668 CE) – These eminent historical personalities were the rulers of the Pallava dynasty, who were the highly influential and powerful kings.

Potti Sreeramulu-
Potti Sreeramulu was one of the eminent and famous Indian freedom fighters. He has been honoured as Amarajeevi ( immortal being) and the father of Andhra Pradesh.
Muktyala Raja-
Raja Vasireddy Ramagopala Krishna Maheswara Prasad is also known as one of the famous political leaders in Andhra Pradesh. He constructed the world’s tallest masonry dam, Nagarjuna Sagar Dam.
Tanguturi Prakasam-
Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu was a famous political personality, a leader, and an Indian freedom fighter. He was the first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. He is also known as Andhra Kesari (Lion of Andhra).
Pingali Venkayya-
Pingali Venkayya is also a renowned Indian freedom fighter. He was also a political personality, and he designed India’s national flag.
Puchalapalli Sundarayya-
Puchalapalli Sundarayya was a famous political leader after independence (1964). He is also popularly known as Comrade PS. He also was a co-founder of the Communist Party of India.

Rani Rudrama Devi was a fabulous queen, and one of the very few women rulers who ruled in India and brought significant political modifications. She was the ruler of the Kakatiya dynasty from 1263 to 1289.
Sarojini Naidu –
It would be unfair for female empowerment if Sarojini Naidu is not mentioned in the famous female personalities. She married into a Telugu family and moved to Andhra Pradesh. This Bengali woman directly participated in the freedom movement of India, and was known as “The Nightingale of India”.
Susmita Sen-
Miss Universe Susmita Sen also belongs to Andhra Pradesh. She was the winner of the Miss Universe title in 1994. She is also a famous heroine of Bollywood, one of the largest renowned cinema industries. She was awarded the Mother Teresa award for social justice in 2013.
PV Sindhu-
One of the famous sports persons in Andhra Pradesh and professional badminton player, PV Sindhu is also a representative of Andhra Pradesh. She has won various awards in badminton. She represented India and won a bronze medal in the Olympics. She was awarded Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. She also won the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award. She was the first Indian to become the first badminton world champion.
