What is a Lactometer?

Answer:

A Lactometer is known to be an instrument that permits individuals to witness the amount of non-fat solids within milk. In short words, a Lactometer is utilized to check how much pure is produced by cows. A Lactometer is cylindrical in shape. The Lactometer works on the basis of Archimedes’ principle.

The Lactometer determines the relative density of milk in respect to water. To test the purity of milk, a Lactometer is dipped into milk. The Lactometer gets dipped into milk up to a point and that point is marked. Further, the Lactometer is dipped into water up to a specific point and that point is also marked. In case the Lactometer sinks less in milk as compared to water, milk is considered to be denser than water.
