What Are Magnetic And Non-Magnetic Materials?

Answer: The substances that can get attracted to the magnets are called Magnetic Substances. 

Examples can be:- Nickel, Cobalt, Iron and Steel.

On the other hand, the substances that do not get attracted to the magnets are called Non-magnetic Substances.

Examples are:- Wood, Plastic, Rubber, Copper, etc.

One of the best examples of Non- magnetic material is the Modern minted Coins made of a uniform mixture of different metals so that they lose the ability to get attracted to magnets.

The derivation of the word magnetite is done from Magnesia of Magnes. Magnets are named after magnetite.
