As it is always said that Onam is the last or annual festival which is celebrated in the states of Kerala. Kerala is geographically situated in South India. It is a festival celebrated by Malayalis. This festival is celebrated by harvesting crops. It is a big day that is counted as a dependent, according to Hindu Panchangam, which occurs at the time of the 22nd Thiruvonam Nakshatra in the calendar. Malayalis celebrate it in the month of Chingam. The month Chingam is referred to as the time period from August to September in the Gregorian date calendar.

Thus, the event is organised accordingly & as the legends say. They worship the king Mahabali. At the same time, Malayalis believe that Mahabali’s spirit comes to visit the place of Kerala during this period. Onam is said to be a fascinating festival for South Indians. Each of them celebrates it as a period of blessing.

On the day of Onam, they harvest Hibiscus, Thumba, Mukkuthi, Marigold & Tulasi. They are the most precise celebration that forms the beauty of a place.  

Integrating the source, Thumba is known as the integral substance of the pookalam. Amongst all the flowers, Onam Pookalam is designed as an important flower that has to be necessarily sown. 

All the people of Kerala decorate the Attam Day of Onam with beautiful flowers. They also include arranging the swinging ceremony that is seen at the time of Onam. Onam, where all the women gracefully clap and perform a dance. All these women make conical figures or shapes of lords with clay during the festival of Onam.
