Answer: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931, in Rameswaram, India. His full name is Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. He was the great Indian Scientist and politician who played an important role in the development of missiles and nuclear weapons for India. He served as the president of India from 2002 to 2007.
- He pursued aeronautical engineering at the Madras Institute of Technology
- In 1958, he joined the Defence Research and Development Organisation
- In 1969, he moved to ISRO as the director of SLV-III, which was the first satellite launch vehicle. This was designed and produced in India only
- In 1982, he rejoined the DRDO, where he produced a number of missiles as result he got the title of Missile Man of India
